Your course
We run courses
for teachers of English to secondary school students
and adults. These courses are for those of you who are
already teaching English or are training to be an
English teacher and want to acquire new ideas to make
your lessons more communicative and effective, and at
the same time improve your language. The Secondary/Adult
Course was developed by Susan Kay, former Lake School
Director and author of the highly acclaimed Reward
Teachers' Resource Packs and co-author of Inside Out,
the latest adult course from Macmillan
Course content includes:

hours per week We have a
reputation for academic excellence and many of our
students recommend the school to their friends, family
and colleagues. We are situated in the exciting
university city of Oxford. Our dynamic
teaching staff are qualified and experienced and
chosen for their friendliness and professionalism. We are members of
ENGLISH UK and we are BRITISH COUNCIL accredited. In
our recent British Council re-inspection, 26 points of
excellence were noted in areas such as academic
management, academic resources, premises and student
welfare. We are also
members of QUALITY ENGLISH, a group of established,
independent schools who are carefully selected for
their quality of customer service and their commitment
to excellence in English language teaching. Your accommodation Accommodation is
in a friendly homestay (half board, single room) for
two weeks. You will also receive lunch or a packed
lunch at the weekend. We choose your
homestay carefully from the information you give us on
the registration form. Most teacher refresher course
participants live in a homestay. It's a great
opportunity to talk and exchange cultures. You have
your own key to the house and complete independence.
Other expenses A bus pass is
approximately 30 GBP, giving 2 weeks of unlimited
travel in Oxford. You will also need money for
personal expenses. Social activities There is 1
evening social activity every week included in the
cost of your course. We also have a varied optional
excursion programme, including visits to places of
interest such as London, Cambridge, Stratford and Bath.
